Nils Stump wins precious metal at the Judo World Championships in Abu Dhabi. The Zurich native was unable to defend his world championship title in Doha 2023. He secured the bronze medal. Gold went to number 1 in the world rankings: Hidajat Hejdarow from Azerbaijan.
The Swiss judo professional missed the semi-finals against Mongolian Anchsaya Lavjargal in the up to 73 kg class. But in the repechage he managed to prevail twice. He won the fight for bronze against the German Igor Wandtke. Stump is currently ranked 8th in the world.
