The New York Big Blue will remember the old days of the organization throughout the season
EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Los New York Giants They will be dressing retro for a couple of games this season. Very retro.
Los Giants They delved back into their formative days to create a special “Century Red” uniform to celebrate their centenary.
New York will wear special jerseys up to two times this season to honor the team’s past. Specific games and dates have not been announced.

The centenary uniform consists of a modernized version of the 1933 jersey, pants and socks from 1925 and the helmet from 1938. The new look tells the story of one of the oldest teams in the NFL by highlighting key milestones: the team’s founding in 1925, its first appearance in the championship game of the NFL in 1933 and its championship in 1938.
“The Century Red uniform puts a modern touch on some of our earliest uniforms and will be worn to honor the players who laid the foundation for American football. Giants“said the director of creative services of the Giants, Doug Murphy. “Having recovered many of our most recent uniform combinations, we meticulously researched the previous uniforms of the Giants to ensure historical accuracy. “We are proud to have this uniform be part of the celebration of our 100th season.”
The uniform was designed by Nike in collaboration with the Giants to combine memorable components from the team’s past with a modern twist. For example, the 1933 shirts had long sleeves, while the modernized version did not. The tan pants, red socks with a blue horizontal stripe, square cut of the numbers, blue collar and shoulders, and the shape of the wings on the back of the helmet were carefully taken into consideration for replication purposes.
The uniform provides the final reminder that Big Blue could easily have been Big Red. Red was a larger part of the team’s color scheme. Giants for most of the first three decades, until they opted primarily for blue and white.
The primary red re-emerged when an alternative jersey was introduced in 2004. As the owner has jokingly lamented John Mara in the past, the Giants They didn’t have a good record with those retros, going 1-3 from 2004 to 2007.
The Century Red uniforms mark the second time in three years that the Giants They introduce a vintage t-shirt. They brought back a version of their classic uniforms from the ’80s and ’90s during the 2022 season.
It is expected that the Giants wear that legacy uniform introduced in 2022 for one game this season, in addition to the new centennial edition, as part of the celebration of its 100th season this fall. Earlier this week they unveiled their 100th season patch which will be on all of their jerseys.

Like the new uniforms, the focus is on the details of the patch, which features a crest in the shape of the Polo Grounds, their first home. The zeros in “100 Seasons” are in the shape of the old stadium of the Giants, where they won multiple championships. It also has eight laces to represent each of the franchise’s titles and the central figure in a throwing movement is inspired by the classic skyline logo of the Giants.
“Our planning for the 100th season began almost two years ago and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with our fans, former players and partners,” he said.
