The National Universiade 2024 starts this weekend at Autonomous University of Aguascalientes
The potosina delegation of the Águilas of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí is ready to compete in the National Universiade 2024which this year will be held at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. This historic event, organized by the National Sports Education Council (CONDDE), will have the participation of 10 thousand athletes of both sexes and will be the first time that it is carried out with 30 sports disciplines.
The sports program, which will take place from May 11 to 28, has been the result of an arduous process that included intramural, state and regional stages in which more than 300 public and private institutions from all over the country participated.
Among the disciplines that will be played are chess, athletics, basketball, badminton, baseball, university boxing, fencing, sport climbing, association football, handball, karate, rugby, judo, taekwondo and wrestling, among others.
He Doctor Manuel Merodio RezaExecutive Secretary of the CONDDE, expressed his enthusiasm for this large-scale sporting event, highlighting the joint work with both public and private higher-level institutions. “We have a great sports program with 30 disciplines,” said Doctor Merodio Reza, “this is the result of the joint effort that has allowed us to consolidate the National Universiade 2024 in a venue that will host this sports movement next year”.
Doctor Merodio Reza also thanked the more than 320 public and private institutions for their support, pointing out that this event contributes to the comprehensive training of higher-level students, promoting values and skills that will generate better citizens and professionals in the future.
In addition to the aforementioned disciplines, other venues are ready to host softball, soccer, and indoor volleyball competitions, among others.
