This league consists of 166 leagues, the largest ever.

Following 62 in 2022 and 129 in 2023, the scale is further expanded this year. This aims to make badminton more than just a hobby, strengthen the connection between professional sports and everyday sports, and provide opportunities for more people to participate.

The promotion and relegation system league is open to members of provincial and provincial associations, and promotion and relegation are achieved through a five-level pyramid-type promotion system.

This system motivates players and provides opportunities to improve their skills through competition.

About 200 members of the association’s six clubs (Gyeongsang Club, Daemyung A and B Club, Baekmaek Club, Myeongseong Club, and Yeongseon Club) participated in the opening ceremony of the Namgu Badminton Association promotion league, which started for the first time in Daegu this year.

At the opening ceremony, Choi Seung-tak, president of the Daegu City Badminton Association, said, “I would like to express my gratitude for the Korea Badminton Association promotion league being held in Daegu Nam-gu, the only one in Daegu to be held in 2023 and 2024.” He added, “The Daegu Nam-gu Sports Association and Daegu Nam-gu Badminton Association executives “Thank you for your hard work.”

Daegu Nam-gu Sports Chairman Kwon Bok-man said, “Nam-gu is holding several sports events, but I am very proud of the revitalization of badminton and the start of the promotion system league. I hope the league goes well without injuries.”

Lee Kang-soon, president of the Daegu Nam-gu Badminton Association, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the club members and officials who participated in the promotion-relegation system league,” and urged them to “play fair before winning or losing.”

Meanwhile, this relegation-based BK League is the first promotion-based league in Daegu with Nam-gu starting, and is expected to provide new challenges and opportunities for many people who love badminton.
