Misolic in Paris for the first time in major main draw

Filip Misolic qualified for a Grand Slam tournament for the first time on Friday in the third round of qualifying for the French Open.

The 22-year-old Styrian defeated Frenchman Quentin Halys (ATP-187.) 2:6 6:4 6:3 after 2:09 hours. The 2022 Kitzbühel finalist will find out his first-round opponent on Friday after the qualifiers have been drawn.

Misolic reached the third and final round of eliminations for the first time in her eighth attempt at one of the four majors. This means that two Austrians are in the singles main draw: Austria’s number one, Sebastian Ofner, who will face Frenchman Terence Atmane in the first round of the second major of the year, which begins on Sunday. There are no Austrians in the women’s field.
