Mike Trout Undergoes Knee Surgery, Expected to Return Before Season’s End

Los Angeles Angels All-Star outfielder Mike Trout had surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and the team expects the three-time American League MVP winner to return to action. game by the end of the season.

Trout underwent surgery in California and will remain in Anaheim during his rehabilitation.

This is the fourth straight season that the 11-time All-Star player has been dealing with a major injury.

“There were no surprises in the operation,” Angels manager Ron Washington said Friday before the start of a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians.

“Everything went well,” he added.

Trout, who is 32, isn’t sure when he injured his left knee.

He led the Majors with 10 home runs and produced 14 runs in addition to stealing six bases before finding himself on the sidelines.

Trout missed the majority of the 2021 season with a strained calf muscle and several weeks in 2022 with a back injury. Last season, a broken hand ended his season in July.
