Mike Conley Returns for Crucial Game 6 Showdown as Timberwolves Face Potential Elimination

The uncertainty seems to have come to an end. Mike Conley, who missed the fifth game of the series between the Timberwolves and Nuggets due to Achilles discomfort, will be present for the sixth. Tonight Minnesota hosts Denver at home in what could be the final game of the series. After starting 2-0, the Wolves could say goodbye to the season tonight with a 4-2 loss. This afternoon the point guard attended the team’s shooting session and will be ready for the game.

The team missed their point guard tremendously the other night. His absence allowed the Nuggets defense to focus on Anthony Edwards, harassed by double-teams all night. The guard finished with 4 turnovers and did not find his shots all night. Since he joined the team in March of last year, Conley has been a fundamental and silent piece.

In this postseason his averages are 11.3 points and 7 assists. And, although the percentages are not being too good, his mere presence channels the attack of those from Minneapolis. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, his replacement in the starting five, and Monte Morris, his natural substitute, did not do a bad job. But Conley is one of those who makes his absence more noticeable than his presence.
