Mexican Youth Archery Team Dominates Pan American Youth Championship and Masters 2024

The Mexican youth archery team began its journey in the Pan American Youth Championship and Masters 2024, obtaining 10 leads in qualifying rounds: three individual, five for teams and two in which tickets will be given to the Junior Pan American Games Assumption 2025.

Juan Téllez, with 655 points in men’s U21 recurve; Adriana Castillo, with 697 units in the women’s under-21 compound; as well as Víctor Portillo, with a mark of 706 in the men’s under-18 compound, were the Aztec athletes who dominated their respective tests.

The first places by teams were for the men’s U21 recurve team (Juan Téllez, Osvaldo Ramírez and Javier Márquez), with 1946 points; the mixed recurve sub-21 (Juan Téllez and Cristina Villalón), with 1,274 units; the women’s composite sub-21 (Regina Bernal, Adriana Castillo and Ximena Estrada), with 2043 points; the mixed composite sub-21 (Elías Reyes and Adriana Castillo), with 1,389 units; and the mixed composite sub-18 (Carolina Lugo and Víctor Portillo), with 1376 points.

Regarding the qualifiers for Asunción 2025, Mexico took first place in the U-21 recurve men’s doubles (Juan Téllez and Javier Márquez), with 1,304 points; and in mixed mixed under-21 (Elías Reyes and Adriana Castillo), with 1100 units.

This Thursday the eliminatory phases will be held and the first medals will be awarded in 16 different categories of the contest that takes place in El Salvador until next Sunday, May 12.
