Mexican Teams Embark on Baseball Memorial Day Tournament 2024 in Irvine, California

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- Los mexican teams who will participate in the Baseball Memorial Day Tournament 2024 They have already left for Irvine, California, where every year more than 200 teams live an unforgettable sports and recreational experience.

The competition will be held from Thursday, May 23 to Monday, the 27th at the Irvine sports complex, with a total of 240 teams, with players ranging from three and a half to 14 years old.

The teams participating are from southern California, Hawaii and Mexico, who will play more than 400 games throughout the weekend.

In this 31st edition of the Memorial Day Tournament, Mexico will be represented by 21 teams of which 13 are from Sinaloa, three from Sonora, four from Mexico City and one from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

Fernando Hernández Rubio, president of the Sinaloa Baseball Association and commissioner of Mexican youth baseball in this tournament, spoke about the presence of Mexico and Sinaloa in Irvine for 28 years:

“28 years ago was the first time we went with a Sinaloa team and it will be our 26th participation since the tournament was suspended for two years due to COVID; In all these years almost 12 thousand children and young people have attended this tournament and the majority have been from Sinaloa. In these four days, more than a thousand Mexicans will be promoting baseball in central and southern California,” declared Hernández Rubio.

This competition not only focuses on sports as players and their families also have the opportunity to visit emblematic places such as Disneyland and Universal Studios, in addition to visiting Major League stadiums in Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Diego, making this annual tournament an unforgettable and unique experience for everyone present.
