Paris Saint Germain failed to reach the Champions League final after being defeated Borussia Dortmund. PSG star Kylian Mbappe feel responsible for not scoring a goal.
PSG lost 0-1 when they hosted Dortmund in the second leg of the semifinals Liga Champions at the Parc des Princes, Wednesday (8/5/2024) early morning WIB. This defeat meant that PSG was eliminated with an aggregate of 0-2.
PSG, who appeared to be attacking, recorded 31 shots throughout the second leg, five of which were on target. However, PSG managed to score no goals.
Mbappe missed at least two good opportunities in the second leg. One of Mbappe’s chances was thwarted by the crossbar.
The French star admitted that he had tried his best. He also felt guilty for failing to score a goal.
“I tried to help my team as much as possible but I didn’t do enough,” said Mbappe as reported by ESPN.
“When we talk about being efficient in the penalty box, I think I’m the one who is the target. I’m the one who should score goals and be decisive.”
“When things are going well, I’m the center of attention and when it’s not, I have to take responsibility. That’s fine.”
“The first one to score should be me. That’s life and we have to move on, me and the team,” said Mbappe.
