Neck and neck with the Clippers during the first half, the Mavericks accelerated after returning from the locker room in the wake of a great Kyrie Irving to validate their ticket for the second round of the Playoffs. LA is on vacation.

Luka Doncic starts strong, LA gets eaten inside

Elimination match on the Dallas side and we sense a lot of apprehension on the pitch to attack this meeting. On both sides, clumsiness takes over but it is Dallas who gets off to the best start. The Mavs are doing a lot of work in the paint and the Clippers are far too permissive, leaving up to 10 offensive rebounds to their rivals in the first quarter alone.

Luka Doncic, despite his skill at half-mast, is present with 14 points in the first quarter and several high-class shifts. PJ Washington brings his shot to the corner and the Texans take the lead.

On the Clippers side, it’s much more complicated. Paul George is there to save the country but around him it is too limited to really be able to compete. Be careful not to strain the other day because otherwise it’s the door.

The breathing space for Dallas, Norman Powell rings the revolt of the Clippers

Apathetic during the first quarter, the Angelinos showed another face in the second act. Stronger on rebounds and in defense, the Clippers also find support to send to Paul George. James Harden takes care of the distribution and the pair Norman Powell – Terance Mann takes care of the scoring. LA’s sixth man is valuable with already 10 points at the break coming off the bench.

Dallas is no longer able to develop its game. Luka Doncic is forcing a little too much, but above all Kyrie Irving absolutely must do violence. Uncle Drew showed almost nothing in this first half. The Mavs’ offense dies down, and to make matters worse, Maxi Kleiber joins the sidelines because of a nasty fall to his shoulder. While Dallas had been up to 13 lengths ahead, the two teams returned to the locker room on an equal footing. (52-52) Good luck saying who will win this match.

The awakening of Kyrie Irving

When they returned from the break, the Mavericks had obviously drunk Bugs Bunny’s potion. They’re giving it a big boost. The pair Luka – Kyrie places an 8-0 from the start to announce the color, Daniel Gafford sends him a message to Ivica Zubac in his own way.

This third act above all marks the return to life of Kyrie Irving. Totally transparent in the first period, the leader scored 13 points in this quarter alone, while showing himself to be crucial in defense. The Clippers can’t keep up, especially since Paul George can no longer find his feet in attack. LA lacks solutions and Dallas takes off. 15 pts difference before starting money time, it smells like a tree for the sailboats.

Dallas continues to hit where it hurts in the last act. Kyrie Irving is still in the zone and he is making baskets in an American Airlines Center that is asking for more. Luka Doncic (28 points, 13 assists, 7 rebounds) happily leaves him the spotlight and the Slovenian continues to offer caviar to his friends. The gap exceeds 20 points, the Mavs are in control. LA tries to make a last stand but the Clippers are starting too far. Kyrie scored two last shots (30 points) before Jason Kidd sent his end of the bench for the last minute.

Deserved victory for the Mavericks who join the Thunder in the second round. For the Clippers, it’s a new disappointment in the Playoffs and the summer could be lively in the City of Angels. Will the Kawhi Leonard – Paul George project get another chance? We may have seen PG13 with an Angelino jersey for the last time who knows?
