Massimiliano Allegri against everyone – Il Post

On Wednesday evening, in the last minutes of the Italian Cup final won 1-0 by Juventus against Atalanta, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was sent off for having protested in an insistent and very blatant manner to the referee and his collaborators. Allegri began to protest when the referee did not blow the whistle for what, according to him, was a foul in favor of Juventus, in the ninety-fifth minute.

These were very excited moments of the match, because the result was still in the balance and there had been some episodes discussed, such as a penalty requested by Juventus for a possible foul on Dusan Vlahovic (then not awarded by the referee). As happened other times in the past, Allegri took off his jacket in anger, threw it on the ground and went to speak aggressively and very closely with the fourth official (the referee’s assistant who is on the sidelines ). For this reason the referee Fabio Maresca sent him off. Allegri left the pitch by abruptly undoing his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. Shouting “shame!” and then, looking towards the stands, he asked “where is Rocchi?”, referring to Gianluca Rocchi, the referee designator of Serie A.

Even after the match ended, those present at the Olympic Stadium said that Allegri was very nervous. In particular Guido Vaciago, director of the Turin sports newspaper Tuttosportsaid he met him in the corridor leading to the press room and was verbally attacked by Allegri.

«Shit director! Yes, you shitty director. Write the truth in your newspaper, not what society tells you! Stop playing hustlers with the club”, Allegri allegedly told him. And again: «Look, I know where to come and get you. I know where to wait for you. I’ll come and rip off both your ears. I’ll come and hit you in the face. Write the truth in the newspaper”

Juventus have fared rather poorly in recent weeks, scoring just 15 points in their last 15 league games. For some time now, there has been regular talk in the media about Allegri’s possible dismissal at the end of the season, despite the fact that he still has one year left on his contract, often citing the current Bologna coach Thiago Motta as his possible replacement. Evidently Allegri didn’t appreciate the way Tuttosportthe reference newspaper for those who follow Juventus and Torino, reported on Juventus’ situation in the last period.
