Marcelo Gallardo’s Saudi adventure did not last very long. Appointed coach of Al-Ittihad in November 2023, the Argentinian will already leave Karim Benzema’s club. According to Olé Diaryits managers decided to end his contract which ran until 2025.

Gallardo had clashed with Benzema, his flagship recruit, from the start of his adventure before going on to record 14 victories, 13 defeats and 3 draws in 30 games managed. But the 5-0 rout against Al-Ettifaq was one defeat too many.
