Lukas Neumayer Falls Short in Quarter-Finals Match Against Dimitar Kuzmanov

Lukas Neumayer missed out on the quarter-finals after a 6:2, 2:6, 0:6 defeat against Bulgarian Dimitar Kuzmanov.

The 21-year-old shined with two quick breaks in the first set. Neumayer initially presents himself as dominant with his own service and confidently fixes the rapid movement of the sentences. But in the second set, the 211th in the ATP world rankings lacked his virtues and had to accept a break in the first service to make the score 0-2.

From now on, Neumayer impresses again with his strong serve game. However, despite three break points, the Bulgarian kept his nerve at 2:4 and secured the set equalizer thanks to another service loss from Neumayer. In the deciding set, Kuzmanov dominated the game and benefited from a drop in performance from Salzburg.

Meanwhile, Joel Schwärzler will face Spaniard Martin Landaluce in the round of 16 this afternoon. Gerald Melzer is also dueling with the Argentinian Roman Andres Burruchaga.
