Lonzo Ball: I expect to play the first game of next season

Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball finally seems to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Recently the former UCLA player spoke about the various stages of his ordeal, starting from the first stop in 2018: “There was no more meniscus and he was rubbing bone against bone,” said Ball. “The cartilage was gone and the bone was ruined, so – thanks to a donor – I was transplanted with a new meniscus, and later a new cartilage was also inserted”.

Ball underwent cartilage transplant surgery in March 2023, his third surgery within a year.

The point guard is optimistic that he will be able to return to the field at the beginning of next season.

“I am firmly convinced of this….This is the plan I am following and I have not had any problems. I expect to play from the first match.”

In 35 games played with the Bulls (22 wins) in the 2021-22 season Ball recorded averages of 13 points, 5.1 assists and 1.8 steals.
