Local badminton hero Lee Zi Jia will be among the main singles drawcards at the 2024 BWF Badminton Malaysia Masters taking place in Kuala Lumpur from 21 to 26 May.

The Malaysian shuttler will take some confidence into his home tournament after winning his first title of the year at the Thailand Open in Bangkok on Sunday (19 May). Lee overpowered Hong Kong China’s By Ka Long Angus with 21-11, 21-10 victory in the men’s final adding to this tournament title from 2022.
Lee will face the People’s Republic of China’s Zhao Jupeng in the opening round of the tournament which features reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark as the top seed.
The Malaysian ace is set for a collision course with the second-seeded Anders Antonsenshould he reach the quarter-final stage of the tournament.
