Favorite Ganna warns: “It goes up and down, quite difficult”
Filippo Ganna had the fastest time at all intermediate points in the previous time trial over 40 km, but Pogacar was still 17 seconds under him on the last 6 km uphill. Today it is hilly, but the second part of the time trial runs down to Lake Garda.
Italian chrono champion Ganna is therefore the favorite. But the world hour record holder of Ineos Grenadiers points out that the course is more difficult than it looks. “We have explored the stage for the Giro a few times. It is quite difficult, it goes up and down a bit.”
