Two authors of hat-tricks in the Cities of Fairs Cup
Before 1971 and the establishment of a third true European Cup, the UEFA Cup, which became the Europa League, a competition called the Cities Fairs Cup existed. Two players had scored hat-tricks in the final: the Spanish striker Vicente Guillot Fabian, with Valencia in the first leg of the 1962 edition (6-2) against FC Barcelona (1-1 in the return), then the Spanish striker Luis Pujol Codina with FC Barcelona in the final return of the 1966 edition in Zaragoza (4-2, first leg: 1-0).
