Ligue 1: would Lille’s Nabil Bentaleb have refused to pose in front of the banner against homophobia?

A new suspicious case has been highlighted by the Rouge Direct collective. This Wednesday, he shared a video extract of around twenty seconds in which Lille midfielder Nabil Bentaleb ties his shoelaces while his partners pose in front of the banner of the fight against homophobia. It remains to be determined whether his attitude was voluntary or not.

The video shows Lille, just before the kick-off of their match against Nice (2-2). Nabil Bentaleb is behind the rest of the team and does his shoelaces, crouching. It cannot therefore appear in the photo. The Rouge Direct collective asks questions and addresses the club: “What do you think of the attitude of your player Nabil Bentaleb? He seems not to want to appear in the photo and cowardly refuses, by hiding, to associate himself with the message: No to homophobia. »

He does not wish to speak at the moment

Julien Pontes, the spokesperson for the Rouge Direct collective, also reacted to The voice of the North : “The best way to get out of ambiguity is to demonstrate agreement with the campaign. If he doesn’t do it, at least we can consider it deliberate. » Nabil Bentelab also indicated to the northern daily that he will not communicate on this subject for the moment.

The campaign against homophobia organized this weekend in Ligue 1 was also marked by the attitude of Mohamed Camara. The Monegasque midfielder had hidden the logos against homophobia on his jersey with straps, unlike Nabil Bentaleb who played with the visible logo. The Rouge Direct collective, as well as the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, called for sanctions.
