Leonardo Gutiérrez Steps Down as Coach of Olympic de La Banda

Leonardo Gutiérrez stopped being the coach of Olympic de La Banda. The leadership of the Santiago club decided to end the cycle of the former Peñarol, who will be replaced until the end of the season by Esteban Gatti, who until now was part of Gutiérrez’s coaching staff.

The bandeño team thanked Leo for his professionalism and permanent commitment to the institution throughout all these years, and wished him the best from now on.

Gutiérrez had been leading the Olympic squad for almost five years, where he landed for the 2019/2020 National League.

Leo led the Santiago team in 179 official matches, with 96 victories and 83 losses.

Olimpico is third in the current season of the National League and was champion of the last Interleague, the first international title for the northern club.

Leo Gutiérrez is the player with the most National League titles (10) won in the history of Argentine basketball. His last four came playing for Penarol of this city, a club he also coached between 2017 and 2019.
