Laval Athletes Laurie Denommée and Simone Huang Awarded Scholarships by Aléo Foundation

Two Laval athletes obtained a scholarship from the Aléo Foundation. These are Laurie Denommée in gymnastics and Simone Huang in Badminton. There were a total of 23 recipients across Quebec.

The 23-year-old gymnast received an amount of $4,000 and the same goes for the 17-year-old badminton player.

The annual event took place at the Beneva office in Longueuil, where the recipients were welcomed by the president and CEO, Jean-François Chalifoux, and Patricia Demers, general director of the Aléo Foundation. Among them, seven received their first scholarship from the company, thus joining the group of athletes supported by Beneva since 2010, including speed skater Kim Boutin, swimmer Katerine Savard and diver Nathan Zsombor-Murray.

“Balancing studies and sports is a real challenge for student athletes. However, when it is facilitated by the support of major partners such as Beneva, it allows big dreams to come true. At the Aléo Foundation, we firmly believe that achieving this balance is an essential key, both in their sporting practice and academically. And sharing this conviction with Beneva allows us to make a difference for many recipients. »indicates Martin Lavigne, president of the Aléo Foundation

For a fifteenth consecutive year, a total of $100,000 in scholarships and support services was offered to 23 young athletes. Since the start of this partnership, more than 200 young people have benefited from 350 scholarships, representing $1.5 million in scholarships and support services provided by Beneva to the Foundation.
