Doubles specialist Laura Siegemund was eliminated in the second round of the singles competition at the WTA tournament in Rome. The 36-year-old from Metzingen lost to Ukrainian Dajana Jastremska 6:4, 5:7, 2:6 after almost three hours of play.

Angelique Kerber is the last German to compete in the dress rehearsal for the French Open, which is worth $5,509,771. The three-time Grand Slam winner will face the Russian Aliaxandra Sasnowitsch on Saturday in the fight for a place in the round of 16.
