Elkan Baggott does have special abilities. He has been Indonesia’s mainstay since the 2020 AFF Cup. However, in the last few matches, Baggott is no longer the main choice.

In the 2023 Asian Cup, Baggott only played fully once, namely when he met Australia. Baggott did not play against Vietnam and was used as a forward in the duel against Japan.

Baggott then missed two matches against Vietnam in March 2024 due to injury. Indonesia always wins in those two matches.

Plus one match against Vietnam in the 2023 Asian Cup, Indonesia always wins when Elkan Baggott is absent. Not only did they always win, Shin Tae-yong’s troops also didn’t concede at all.

Elkan Baggott is still very important for the Indonesian national team. However, with the stock of players available, the Garuda Squad still has quite good squad depth even without Baggott.

Jay Idzes and Jordi Amat could be the mainstays. They play at a pretty good level. Then, there is Justin Hubner who can play many roles in the back line.

Indonesia also still has Rizky Ridho who appears very consistent. Ridho is also believed to be one of the captains of the Indonesian National Team. Then, there is Muhammad Ferrari who performed well in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.
