Knicks win heated NBA duel with Pacers

The New York Knicks are just one win away from reaching the NBA conference finals. The team led by the strong Isaiah Hartenstein won 121:91 against the Indiana Pacers and now leads the series 3:2 after victories.

Hartenstein excelled with 17 rebounds and also scored seven points for the Knicks, who took the lead from the visitors in the first quarter and never fell behind after that. Once again the best man on the floor was Hartenstein’s teammate Jalen Brunson, who scored 44 points. The Pacers’ best thrower was Pascal Siakam with 22 points.

Although the hosts were in the lead by at least ten points for long stretches, there was a lot of fire in the game. Hartenstein was one of the players who was punished with a technical foul after forming a pack. The 26-year-old once again showed his enormous value for the Knicks in the encounter.

Game six of the series will be played on Saturday night in Indianapolis in Indianapolis. The Knicks haven’t been to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000. There it would be against the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics are 3-1 up after wins.

Defending champion Denver Nuggets took a 3-2 lead in the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves and are set to advance to the next round. In the final score of 112:97, the Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic excelled with 40 points and played a major role in the Nuggets’ home success.
