Judo Talent Michelle Steinberg Takes Gold in National Competition

    (pm). Judo talent Michelle Steinberg from Bad Nauheim won the national competition in the U15 age group in Backnang. She starts for the Homburg gymnastics community.

    She took to the mats for the first time in a new weight class and initially had a bye. In the second round she faced a top athlete from North Rhine-Westphalia. There, Michelle Steinberg was able to end the fight early with a nice counterattack technique with Ippon and move into the semi-finals. The so-called Golden Score had to decide against Ammely Kaptur from Westphalia. The woman from Bad Nauheim was able to force her opponent to give up with a well-placed lever technique. In the final, Steinberg finally met Leila Deeb (NRW). She was able to end the exciting final fight early with an uchimata and a hold and won gold.

    Because of her good performance, she was also invited to the federal sighting course in Kienbaum.
