ANDLena Bahamonde, from Judo Morales, was competing in the Spanish Cup in Extremadura in the cadet category. Elena started winning her fights until a failure in the semifinals kept her from the final. Later, in the bronze contest, she did not give her rival any option, getting the medal and some first points for the following year, placing her third in the national ranking.
Subsequently, there was International Championship of Castilla y León in Villares de la Reina (Salamanca) in the children’s category, with judokas from the Gokyo and Morales clubs. Daniel Fernández participated in the Gokyo in -42kg, who had a good competition, winning the bronze medal.
On behalf of the Judo Morales club, Rodrigo Gil could not make the cut in his league, as did Sofía Domínguez. Elena Castrillo did enter the fight for the medals, but she could not overcome the fight for bronze, leaving her in fourth position. Finally, Elena Bahamonde-48kg, coming from competing in the Spanish Cup, had an impressive performance to become champion.
