Joselyn Brea achieves her qualification for Paris 2024

The Venezuelan distance runner and double Pan American champion, Joselyn Brea, managed to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after meeting the stipulated mark in the Los Angeles Grand Prix early this Friday.

The Creole registered a time of 14:36.59 to surpass her own national record in the 5,000 meter dash and thus once again achieved an Olympic quota to be one of the main leaders of the delegation.

Brea had to surpass the mark of 14:52.00 to be able to earn a place for the Olympic Games and ended up taking a significant advantage of several seconds in the competition.

In addition to breaking her national record in the United States, Joselyn also became a South American record according to what was reported by the National Sports Institute (IND).

The Venezuelan becomes the 26th athlete to qualify for Paris 2024 and is one of the strong candidates to win medals.
