“Yesterday I signed up for Thailand and Malaysia, but after talking to the coach, it is better for me to focus on just two tournaments, namely the Singapore Open and the Indonesia Open,” said Jonathan, who is often called Jojo.

He said that the qualification process for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is safe, so it is only a fight for first place.

So Jojo is just trying to avoid injuries in two races before going to Paris.

“The three weeks of preparation after the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup were very good to regain physical condition. The match that was played yesterday made me even more mature and stronger,” he stated.

The 2024 Asian champion will face Taiwanese Chou Tien Chen in the first round and fears his rival’s comeback.

Jojo hopes to play freely and enjoy the game, although he believes there will be no easy opponents at the 2024 Singapore Open.

In addition to the two men’s singles, the red and whites will also return to the mountains. One of them is 2022 Singapore Open champion Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin.

Leo/Daniel are determined to do well in the first match against the Korean pair Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae.

“After playing the Thailand Masters, we had more than a week to prepare for this tournament. The conditions are good, we just need to maximize our adaptation on the court later,” Daniel said.

He admits that he is more motivated to repeat his success at the 2022 Singapore Open. However, Daniel and his partner will remain focused on each match played.

“Our Kang/Seo opponents must be aware of their speed. We must be able to stop it. We cannot afford to neglect the implementation of prepared patterns,” she said.
