Jiri Lehecka is having a special week in Madrid. First, the Czech ensured Rafael Nadal’s last appearance in the Spanish capital in the round of 16. Then in the round of the last eight players we reached the semi-finals early due to Daniil Medvedev’s retirement due to injury.
With Felix Auger-Aliassime, an opponent awaits in today’s semi-final (from 8 p.m.) who is currently finding the form of past times and hopes to be able to put an end to his constant ups and downs. Jiri Lehecka, on the other hand, took the next step in her career by reaching the semi-finals, as the most recent quarter-final in Indian Wells was the best result to date at the Masters level, with the exception of the quarter-final at the Australian Open last year.

A new career high in the world rankings is already guaranteed at number 22. Reaching the final would mean entering the top 20 best players in the world for the first time. The 22-year-old is gradually climbing up the ladder in the rankings and impresses with his consistency, which is gradually adding a touch more class.
