Good news for South Tyrol’s tennis fans: Jannik Sinner has confirmed his participation in the upcoming French Open in Paris.

The back and forth is now finally over. So his trainer Darren Chill’s post was true. On Saturday afternoon, Sinner cleared up all the rumors himself. The 22-year-old made a clear post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) – complete with a French flag and an hourglass. Sinner will be at the French Open in Paris, which starts on May 27th.

In the last few days, Sinner was in Turin to examine his damaged right hip at Juventus’ JMedical. Now the doctors have apparently given the green light. Sinner posted two pictures on X on Saturday in which he was already in his adopted home of Monaco. Together with trainer Simone Vagnozzi, Sinner trains there on sand to get back up to operating temperature.

In the coming days, Sinner and his team will set off for Paris. The draw for Roland Garros will take place next Friday. Sinner can already become number 1 in the world after the Grand Slam tournament in the French capital if Novak Djokovic does not reach the final. However, there is still a catch here: The Serb is surprisingly in action at the ATP 250 in Geneva this week and could therefore change the scenario in the fight for number 1.
