Jamal Murray Battles Through Injury to Lead Denver Nuggets in Playoffs

It is one of the great doubts of the moment. Although Denver eliminated the Lakers largely due to the excellent performances of Jamal Murray in the decisive moments, it is no secret that he is not in physical fitness due to a hamstring injury.

Since the fourth game against the Lakers, Murray has been classified as a doubt at all times and now, facing the second match against the Timberwolves who took away the home court factor at the first opportunity, the problem persists. However, the point guard of the current champions avoids making use of such a setback to explain both that defeat and what lies ahead.

«I’m not going to make excuses, brother. Everyone has nagging injuries. Everyone is going through something at this point in the season. Honestly, my problem is no different than anyone else’s on your team or in the league. Obviously it’s something that sucks, but I don’t like to talk about it, much less as part of what caused a defeat,” he explains before emphasizing that it is simply a matter of adapting to the circumstances.

«This injury is going to be part of this playoff race. I have accepted it and work with it. I just have to keep adjusting, we have to keep adjusting and find ways to achieve it,” he says.

Murray started the series against Minnesota with difficulties. In the first half he remained at zero points with 0 of 5 field goals, but in the second he recovered to reach 17 points while playing a total of 34 minutes. Faced with such a tough defensive opponent, it is obvious that the Nuggets need the best version of him to move forward.
