Palembang (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Lavani men’s volleyball team beat Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 25-18) in the first round of the third series of the 2024 PLN Proliga in Palembang, South Sumatra.
In the match held in Palembang, Sunday, the second set was postponed for several minutes after water dripped onto the field.
Jakarta Lavani Allo Bank Electric assistant coach Samsul Jais said after the match that in the first set he managed to win the match and the players started playing together. However, in the second set, his team was defeated by Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax.
According to him, this incident provided an opportunity for Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax to adjust the game strategy so that it was proven that in the second set Jakarta Pertamina was able to gain points.
However, he was grateful that in the third and fourth sets his team came back and controlled the game and won.
Meanwhile, Jakarta’s number 10 Lavani Fahri Septian said that he and his teammates had lost focus because they complained about the condition of the field in the second set.
Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax head coach Yosvany Munoz said his team would focus on correcting shortcomings in this match. According to him, he will carry out an evaluation to improve the team’s play.
After the match, Jakarta Lavani collected 12 points and was in second place, one point different from Jakarta STIN BIN in first place with 13 points. Meanwhile, Jakarta Pertamina is in fifth position with six points.
