Good evening to all friends of Tutto Venezia Sport from your Alberto Bison and welcome to the live text of Reyer Venezia-Pallacanestro Reggiana, match valid for game 5 of the 2024 championship playoff quarter-finals. In this quarter-final the 4th and 5th teams face each other ranking of the championship and as expected it turned out to be a very balanced series which will be decided in game 5.
In the two regular season matches, both teams clearly won the home match, but it is expected that in the post-season matches the distances between the two teams will become more fragile and the matches will be much more competitive and fierce.
In Game 1 Reggio Emilia managed to prevail 74-82 thanks to baskets by Galloway and Smith.
In game 2, Venezia made its home advantage count and with a great team performance it prevailed 83-75, bringing the series to 1-1.
The series then moved to the PalaBigi, where in game 3 Reggio Emilia brought out great energy and physicality which allowed it to reach up to 22 points ahead, while Venezia reacted too late and despite reopening the match, returning to 5 points behind the red and white team in the final it collapses and is defeated 78-66.
So, this evening, game 4, right from the start, Venezia pushed hard and took control of the match and thanks to the baskets of Wiltjer, Simms, and the double double for points and assists by Tucker, they secured the victory 92-95.
