INEFI promotes education plus sport with “Athletes with INEFI” program in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO.- This Tuesday, the National Institute of Physical Education took its “Athletes with INEFI” program to four educational centers in the National District and Santo Domingo Norte, where it delivered sports equipment and gave several talks to the students of those schools.

The activity was headed by the coordinator of “Athletes with INEFI”, judoka María García, who represented the executive director of that decentralized organization, Alberto Rodríguez Mella.

In that sense, García thanked the “warm welcome” to the directors, teachers and students of the Aída Cartagena, María Inmaculada and María Lucesy primary education centers, and also at the Enrique Jiménez Moya Secondary School, highlighting that the objective is “ promote the practice of the winning formula: education plus sport.”

“Another purpose is to promote healthy lifestyle habits and motivate students to achieve their goals, through our high-performance athletes, and good practice through sports equipment and a court in good condition,” reported the prominent vegan judoka.

“With the aim of encouraging school sports, our director Alberto Rodríguez Mella, with the support of President Luis Abinader, delivers this prop for the development of sports, physical and recreational activities,” García highlighted.

Directors, teachers and students of the impacted educational centers thanked and classified as “very significant” the efforts and collaborations carried out by the INEFI.

Sports talks and exhibitions

The talks and exhibitions were given by María García, who taught judo; the former “Queen of the Caribbean”, Gina Mambrú, in volleyball, and the immortal of Dominican sports, Blanca Iris Alejo, in table tennis.
