Indycar will go hybrid in July

The end of the Indycar season will take place with a hybrid system, a sea serpent which will finally be introduced in the North American Championship, which Théo Pourchaire has just joined. Developed jointly by Honda and Chevrolet, the two engine manufacturers of the grid, this system will recover energy during braking and freewheeling phases, to restore it during acceleration.

To get the boost, drivers will have to press a button and, combined with the already existing push-to-pass, this should give them an additional 120 hp and thus make overtaking easier. The system will be introduced July 7 at Mid-Ohio and subsequent races (Toronto, Portland, Iowa, Gateway, Milwaukee and Nashville).
