“It was a game in which everything found its way into the goal,” said NHL goal scorer John-Jason Peterka at the ProSieben microphone. “The whole team showed today that we are a good team and have character,” said Ingolstadt’s Wojciech Stachowiak, who shone with four assists, to MagentaSport – before turning his attention to our next opponent, Poland: “I’m very convinced that it will work again like it did today.”

The knockout round is close

To make it into the knockout round, the runner-up world champion probably only needs one more win from the last two group games. NHL debutant Maksymilian Szuber (2nd), Straubinger Parker Tuomie (3rd), goal scorer John-Jason Peterka (22nd), birthday boy Lukas Reichel (29th/51st), Bremerhaven’s Lukas Kälble (36th), Berlin Frederik Tiffels (55th) and Munich’s Maximilian Kastner (59th) scored for the German team in Ostrava. Ingolstadt’s Wojciech Stachowiak also shone with four assists.

Roman Startschenko (8th) and Artyom Korolyov (52nd) scored for the world number 15. Germany doesn’t have much time for regeneration after its next success. Already on Saturday (4:20 p.m.) the selection of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) will meet newly promoted Poland. France awaits at the end of the group phase on Tuesday.
