There is a chance that Sanders, who the Broncos picked in the third round of the 2023 draft (67th overall), may come back before the end of the season if he recovers well. It is not known exactly when Sanders got injured as Coach Sean Payton has always stated that he will not share updates on injuries or players’ recovery progress during the offseason. However, a week before the draft on April 25, General Manager George Paton was asked about the team’s need at outside linebacker and mentioned Sanders as part of the defense for the upcoming season.

The Denver Broncos will have to delay evaluating linebacker Drew Sanders’ improvement from his rookie year in 2023 due to a third-round pick made last year, as he will be sidelined for most of the 2024 season.

According to ESPN, insiders revealed that Sanders tore his Achilles tendon during the team’s offseason training in April, as initially reported by 9News in Denver. Sanders underwent surgery to repair the injury and is estimated to recover in six to nine months.

It was a fortunate turn of events that they were able to select him despite having to wait for a considerable amount of time.
