Hidalgo is one of the first states that have collaborated in the restructuring of archery in the country, after the lack of knowledge of the Mexican Archery Federation.
Oldair Zamora Nava, representative of the discipline in the entity, mentioned that the state is one of the eight that has complied with the required logistics, which went from reorganizing everything at the state level and subsequently channeling it to the national level.
In that sense, he explained that, due to the changes, a new organization also emerged with the name ATHA Archery, which respects the origins of the previous association, maintaining only its acronym.
“Now a new association is going to re-emerge in Hidalgo, without forgetting the previous one, because it is our base and our name, but the indication was that, to give it a new name,” he explained.
Zamora Nava also reiterated that “World Archery sent its notice that Mexico would have to re-emerge from the bases. What is this? To re-register in the clubs and associations that would like to re-emerge and a new affiliation to a new federation, I would have to do the entire process again.”
Finally, he mentioned that the Hidalgo manager will once again be in the organization chart of the new association, in a position that will become official when the recognition of the international governing body arrives.
“Recognition is about to come, via writing, from World Archery to Mexico, with the new federation, which is now World Archery Mexico. Fortunately, due to work and trust, Hidalgo was taken into account for the board of directors of the new federation,” he stated.
