Magdeburg can pass again

With the victory, the capital club even briefly moved to the top of the league. SC Magdeburg could regain the lead in the table with a win in the evening. Since the Elbestadters have two fewer games in their account, their championship title is considered secure.

The Foxes’ performance in the Max Schmeling Hall was not confident. Once again, the Berliners briefly gave up a five-goal lead and even fell behind for a while in the final phase (23:24). The best thrower was Berlin’s Hans Lindberg with ten goals.

Flensburg clearly beats Stuttgart

The hosts got off to a much better start and were ahead with six goals at one point. But Stuttgart fought back. The table was also 14th in the second half. tried hard, but ultimately clearly inferior. The outstanding player was Flensburg’s Simon Pytlik with seven goals and nine assists. Before the Final Four of the European League (May 25th/26th), Flensburg will face HSV Hamburg and ThSV Eisenach in the league.

Late on Saturday evening, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen narrowly lost to Hannover-Burgdorf with 27:29 (17:15).

Balingen-Weilstetten on the way to league two

For HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, going into the second division in the remaining four games of the season can hardly be prevented. The bottom of the Bundesliga lost 21:34 (8:14) in their own hall against ThSV Eisenach on Friday evening.

As of now, there is only one relegated team this year because the league association has refused HSV Hamburg a license for the coming season. This means that Balingen still has a theoretical chance of staying in the class. The HBW can still catch up with Bergischer HC, who are second to last in the table. However, Hamburg has lodged an objection against the league association’s decision.

After the separation from coach Jens Bürkle, his previous assistant Tobias Hotz experienced his Bundesliga premiere as head coach at Balingen-Weilstetten. However, he couldn’t get the completely unsettled team on the road to success. Rather, the HBW experienced a debacle against the Thuringians, who were now safely saved, so that in the end the third Bundesliga relegation after 2017 and 2022 came a lot closer.

Eisenach is taking steps towards staying in the league

Eisenach, on the other hand, took an important step towards staying in the league. The table 15th. is now five points ahead of Bergischer HC in relegation place 17. As it became known on Friday, HSV Hamburg will not receive a license for the coming Bundesliga season.

The club that has lodged a complaint against the decision is therefore threatened with forced relegation, from which Bergische HC would benefit.

In the second league game on Friday, SC DHfK Leipzig won 30:27 (18:10) at Frisch Auf Göppingen. Both teams are firmly in the middle of the table.
