Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council Promotes Senior Sports Exchange with Jeollanam-do

[코리아투데이뉴스] The Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council (Chairman Kim Jeom-doo) dispatched a daily sports exchange group of 90 people in 6 sports to Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do for three days from May 15th to 17th, targeting senior citizens over 60 years of age.

The Gyeongbuk-Jeonnam lifestyle sports exchange, which started in Gumi in 2015 and has already celebrated its 10th anniversary, has greatly contributed to the promotion of harmony and friendship between the two provinces through friendly games and cultural tours.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do exchange group participating in Wando, Jeollanam-do will participate in a cultural tour and welcome banquet, starting with a welcome ceremony at the Jang Bogo Memorial Hall on the 15th, and will play a friendly match at the 19th Jeonnam Senior Living Sports Festival held for two days from the 16th to the 17th.

Kim Jeom-du, president of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council, said, “The Gyeongbuk-Jeonnam lifestyle sports exchange, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, plans to expand beyond sports exchange into a meaningful program that promotes harmony and friendship among seniors in Yeongsangbuk-do and the Honam region.”

This daily sports exchange will dispatch a team of 90 athletes in 6 sports (gateball, ground golf, badminton, soft tennis, table tennis, and park golf) and participate in the “2024 Gyeongbuk Senior Sports Sports” held in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do from May 21st to 22nd. The Jeonnam team also participates in the “tournament” to strengthen mutual friendship and exchange.
