This Monday, at the facilities of the National Mask Museum, Girona Domènec Torrent has been presented to the media such as new coach of Atlético de San Luisfranchise club of Atlético de Madrid.
The 61-year-old Santa Coloma de Farners coach takes command of the Mexican team for the 2024 Opening Tournament, after coaching Turkish side Galatasaray during the 2021-22 campaign, Brazilian side Flamengo in 2019-20 and New York City in 2018-19. He has also directed as first coach at Palafrugell, Palamós and al Gironabefore joining Pep Guardiola to form part of his coaching staff at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
The presentation of the new coach was also attended byIñigo Regueiro, sports director of the team. According to club sources, during his intervention, creek has expressed: “It is an honor to present Domènec Torrent as our new technical director. From the first meetings we had with him, we knew he was the ideal person to lead our project. With his experience and leadership, the fans will feel completely identified. We wish him a lot of success in this new stage, which we hope will be full of good times”.
Likewise, according to the club, Torrent has expressed: “For me it is a pleasure to be able to work in the Mexican league, specifically in San Luis. It is a challenge and an illusion to be here to try to improve and put the ‘Potosinos’ in the places they deserve.
