French team: Mike Maignan should play again with Milan on Saturday against Torino

The news is reassuring for Mike Maignan. Victim of an adductor injury at the end of April, the number 1 goalkeeper of the French team has returned to training in recent days and should be able to play the penultimate Serie A match in Turin against Torino on Saturday (8:45 p.m.). On April 27, he took his place on the bench against Juventus Turin (0-0), before carrying out an MRI which “revealed a lesion in the right adductor longus”.

The former Lille player then had to miss the two matches against Genoa (3-3, May 5) and Cagliari (5-1, 11) to rest and enter a treatment phase. If this physical problem could have left doubt about his participation in the Euro, the Italian club was never really worried and estimated the duration of his unavailability at one or two weeks.

His return to competition is scheduled for Saturday and he will then have one meeting to play with the current 2nd in Serie A, on May 26 at San Siro against Salernitana. The start of the Blues rally is scheduled for May 29 at Clairefontaine, but Maignan, like Olivier Giroud or Théo Hernandez, will join the group later due to an AC Milan tour of Australia with a match in Perth against AS Roma on May 31.

His presence in Didier Deschamps’ list revealed this Thursday evening is no longer in doubt even if his performance will have to be observed carefully to see if he is fully recovered.

The situation of two other internationals will also be carefully monitored by Didier Deschamps. Kingsley Coman, also affected by adductor injuries, had to take a six-week break and resumed racing only a few days ago. Aurélien Tchouaméni, whose Real Madrid club is qualified for the Champions League final, was hit in the left foot during the half against Bayern Munich.

If his participation in the final on June 1 against Dortmund is still hypothetical, he should still be called up by Didier Deschamps who will carefully monitor the evolution of his physical condition before the start of the Euro (June 14-July 14) . The coach will announce Thursday, on the 8 p.m. news on TF1, the list of players selected for the Euro.
