Continuation of the second stage of the Hyundai World Cup in Yecheon, South Korea, and a mixed recurve team which impresses with the Barbelin-Addis pair.

The duo will play for the bronze medal on Sunday.

Lisa Barbelin and Baptiste Addis will go for a bronze medal for France. This Friday in the mixed team events, the blue pair initially left no chance to the Kazakhstan duo composed of Alina Ilyassova and Dauletkeldi Zhangbyrbay. Easy success despite their hesitant first end, with a final score of 6 points to 2. In the round of 16, the duo once again proved intractable by taking out the Italian pair composed of Tatiana Andreoli and Matteo Bordani: another clear victory in 3 sets, 5 points to 1. And what about the XXL performance during the quarter-finals against one of the favorites, South Korea, crowned with gold in this discipline at the Tokyo Olympic Games and at the World Championships? World. The French won against LIM Sihyeon and KIM Woojin, a resounding victory 6 points to 2. In the semi-final, it came down to the wire, with a cruel defeat against Japan 5 points to 4. Both teams alternated set points until the jump-off, where the Japanese Ruka Uehara and Junya Nakanishi left no room for error with a perfect score of 20 points, compared to 19 from the French.

Our blues will therefore return on Sunday to win a bronze medal. They will meet the Spanish duo of Elia Canales and Andres Temiño Mediel, eliminated by Mexico in the semi-final 5 points to 4. The match for the gold medal will pit Japan against Mexico.

For Benoit Binon, the National Technical Director : “The French team, after an excellent run, can still get a bronze medal on Sunday. I remember several things from this morning. First, the consistent level of the team all morning which did not rely on opposing errors to advance, but on its own level. They work hard to achieve this consistency. Obviously, we cannot ignore the victory against Korea, the Olympic champion nation. It was not a goal today, but it continues to show that the French team in general can be uninhibited in Paris. They still have a difficult match against a strong Spanish team, here again the objective will be to stay on track to continue building confidence.”
