As qualifying begins next Monday and the tournament six days later, the organizers of Roland-Garros have announced the list of players who have obtained a wild card.
Among all the names selected, men and women combined, some French people should experience their last Roland-Garros. These include Alizé Cornet, Richard Gasquet and Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Others are relatively far away in the ATP and WTA rankings: Alexandre Muller, Harold Mayot, Terence Atmane, Fiona Ferro and Kristina Mladenovic.
Their wild card therefore prevents them from having to go through the qualifications, where other Tricolores have been invited to hope to join the main draw which begins on May 26.
Furthermore, a certain Rafael Nadal was not mentioned… It remains to be seen what will happen to the participation of the multiple Spanish champion. There is no doubt that further information will emerge in the coming days.
