French Archery Team Falls Short in Quarter-Finals at Open Compound World Championships

This morning, the Blues came very close to the last four as an Open compound team. Opposed to Slovakia in the quarter-final, the duo Guérin-Joussaume had a one point lead at the halfway mark. The two men were caught in the 3rd end and were one point behind. A gap that they managed to close in the last end of the match to reach the shoot-off. Unfortunately for the French, they missed a few millimeters to win. 19 points everywhere, but the Slovaks’ ten is judged closer to the center by the match referee.

Finally, the mixed double Open recurve bow with Guillaume Toucoullet and Aziza Benhami is eliminated in the quarter-final by Ukraine. A sluggish start to the match for the French and despite an increase in power towards the end of the match, it was not enough. The Blues lost 6 sets to 2.
