French 3×3 Basketball Team Qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympics with Thrilling Victories

The French 3×3 basketball team qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games thanks to its victory over Germany then Mongolia at the TQO in Debrecen. The Blues, dominated, never led during the match before turning everything around with two huge shots at the buzzer.

The French men’s team validated, this Sunday, May 19, its qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for the first time in its history thanks to two successes against Germany (19-17) then Mongolia (21-19 The Blues never led in their two matches before shots at the buzzer which each time offered victory.

In the quarter-final against the Germans, the Blues were pushed around on all sides by a very young team. But through courage, the Blues overthrew the Germans in overtime with an incredible shot from Jules Rambaut.

Rebelote against Mongolia. Never ahead in the score, France is even four points behind a few minutes from the end (15-19). Mongolia is just a two-point field goal away from going to the Olympics. The Blues hang on, get back into the game and Vergniat, from afar, sees her shot hit the string to send the Blues to join their female counterparts at the Games.

France will play the final of the TQO in Debrecen against Lithuania or Poland with a completely free mind.
