Four Players Suspended After Benches Clear in Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tampa Bay Rays Game

A combined four players from the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays were suspended for their roles in the altercation that led to both benches emptying Tuesday night’s game at American Family Field.

Michael Hill, vice president of field operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement:

– The Brewers’ Dominican starter, Freddy Peralta, has received a five-game suspension and a fine for an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing to fellow Dominican José Sirí.

– Brewers manager Pat Murphy was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions and inappropriate conduct with umpires.

– Brewers’ Dominican reliever Abner Uribe was suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount.

– Sirí, Rays patrolman, received a three-game suspension and a fine for an undisclosed amount.

If those sanctioned do not decide to appeal the sanctions, they will come into effect immediately.
