Filip Misolic Continues French Open Qualifying Dream

Filip Misolic can continue to dream of reaching the main draw of the French Open.

The 22-year-old also mastered the second qualifying round without losing a set and beat local French hero Ugo Blanchet 6:4 and 6:2.

The Austrian managed an early break to 1-0 in the first set, which Blanchet was able to equalize to 4-4 shortly before the end. A quick re-break by Misolic and a service game win in the next game finally gave the ÖTV athlete the first set.

In the second set, the 22-year-old was able to maintain his form and score the first break early on. The following games were just a formality for the Graz native, who was able to take another service game from his opponent.

Now against Schwartzman conqueror

In the third and final qualifying round, Misolic will face another Frenchman, Quentin Halys. The 27-year-old advanced to the qualifying final by defeating former top-ten player Diego Schwartzman. The winner of the duel will be able to take part in the main competition.

There is currently only one Austrian represented in this, Sebastian Ofner. Both Dominic Thiem, Jurij Rodionov, Dennis Novak and Lukas Neumayer had to say goodbye to Roland Garros in qualifying.
