A team gold medal and a fourth individual place are the absolutely prestigious results achieved at the European Championships which closed on Saturday 24 February in Croatia by Fabia Rovatti, member of the Compagnia Arcieri Terre di Castelli and absolute spearhead of the newly founded Society.
For three years on the national team, Fabia with her dedication and passion has confirmed, together with her teammates Cinzia Noziglia and Alessandra Bigogno, the Azzurri’s dominance in Europe in the women’s bare bow, repeating with a peremptory 6-0 in Varaždin defeated the Romanian challengers Bacin, Mogos and Topliceanu to win gold in the final in 2022 at the European Championships held in Slovenia.
Our athlete was less fortunate on her way to the individual medal, having found her path blocked in the semi-final by Azzurra Noziglia, the recent holder of the women’s naked bow world record and one of the greatest archers in the world. Then, in the final for third and fourth place, Fabia had to give up (2-6) after a promising start (2-2) to her French opponent Andre.
The two European Championships experienced as a starter leave Fabia Rovatti with a total of two team golds and an individual silver (the latter, won in Slovenia in 2022 after the final with Noziglia), as well as an incredible wealth of experience and emotions. They leave the Terre di Castelli Archers Company with the certainty of having the honor of including a true champion in their ranks, who will not fail to give the team and the entire Emilia-Romagna archery movement new satisfaction and ever greater emotions.
