Young basketball players, especially those who play 3×3, will return to action. According to the explanations of Jean-Marc Aloumon, Managing Director of Dreals Paris, these are complementary competitions. Indeed, the Open City serves as a qualifying round for the Open House. “The Open City are the small tournaments that allow you to qualify for the Open House,” explained the general director of Dreals Paris before adding: “The Open House are the different stages of the AfricanQuest. Upstream, we organize tournaments, at the request of the federations, to develop activities at home and allow teams to qualify for the final stage. For example, at home in Benin, we organize several tournaments. Dreals Paris can choose two or three tournaments as Open City and the grand final of these Open City constitutes the big step to be part of the inter-African circuit. These explanations clarify things for basketball stakeholders and partner federations, thus avoiding confusion.
